<Stay> Welcome to our visual story at Huus Quell (@huus_quell), Appenzeller Huus’s (@appenzeller_huus) new wellness resort. The experience is built around the Spa All Day concept and restoration at scale with the 2,200 m² Spa as its defining centerpiece. Designed for holistic regeneration, the spa brings together nine pools and eight saunas and steam grottos, creating a full-day rhythm of warmth, water, and stillness that invites guests to stay immersed from morning through evening.

The project reflects the vision of owner Jan Schoch (@janschoch) who returned to his native Appenzellerland to revive a historic cluster of houses in Gonten and shape them into a contemporary alpine retreat with thoughtful design and modern technology.

Alongside thermal rituals and panoramic pools, Huus Quell introduces a sophisticated layer of longevity and biohacking treatments. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT), Multi Cryo Hacking System, a cryotherapy chamber reaching −110°C, and the Flow system to support lymphatic drainage, metabolism, and mental focus. At the centre of this ambitious transformation is owner Jan Schoch, whose return to his native Appenzellerland marked a deeply personal project: acquiring and revitalizing historic houses in Gonten, then expanding them into a contemporary retreat where traditional alpine hospitality meets the precision of his fintech-honed mindset. The result is quietly sophisticated with technology integrated seamlessly into operations while the atmosphere remains grounded in local craft and warmth. You can sense the thoughtful details from embroidered bed sheets to woven metal curtains.

Beyond the spa, the surrounding #Appenzell region adds cultural depth: pastel façades adorned with painted signage, centuries-old traditions of embroidery, lace-making, and the celebrated Appenzeller cheese culture that defines the town’s identity. <Stay> While winter just settled, we were in Crans-Montana a week before the recent tragedy that deeply shocked and touched this community. As we now complete this story, our thoughts remain with everyone affected. The mountains hold beauty and fragility in equal measure, and perhaps that awareness deepens the experience of being here.

At Six Senses Crans-Montana (@sixsensescransmontana), mountain living is redefined through a lens of conscious design and restorative altitude.

True ski-in, ski-out access places the slopes at your doorstep, where movement between chalet warmth and alpine terrain feels instinctive. Architecture follows the mountain’s rhythm: timber, stone, glass, and light cascading into the landscape.

Wellness here extends beyond the spa and longevity. Pools are filtered through sand and active carbon, entirely chemical-free. The building operates carbon neutral, with 0.25% of revenue dedicated to sustainability initiatives, from seed banks to pro-cohabitation wildlife programs including regional wolf conservation.

When heavy snow arrived on our second day, the landscape dissolved into white silence, and the stay transformed into something almost monastic in its calm.

Mornings began ski-in, ski-out. Afternoons slowed beside the fireplace, reading, resting, watching snow fall without agenda. No urgency. Just the rare indulgence of time expanding.
